Welcome Back!

Welcome to Edmonson Elementary!

This year we will be continuing our “Leader in Me” journey based on Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. We will be using the 7 Habits of Happy Kids book as well as incorporating the 7 Habits into our everyday academic lessons to teach our students how to implement the 7 Habits into their own lives. We will be focusing on helping every child see his/her own potential and finding ways that he/she can be a leader.  New this year, we are starting a Parent Lighthouse Liaison team. We look forward to sharing more information with you about the Parent Lighthouse Team and our Leader in Me journey as the year progresses. If you would like to read more information about The Leader in Me please visit www.theleaderinme.org.

Our mission at Edmonson is that we are “Educating Every Student...We’ll Do What It Takes.” This mission is an essential part of our school and what we believe in as a staff. We plan to make sure that your child is safe and receiving a high quality education on a daily basis. The staff members at Edmonson are highly qualified, exceptional, and have been working hard to prepare for your child’s arrival for our new school year. It is important that we all work together to ensure a successful school year for your child.

School Hours

It is important that your child arrives to school on time so that they don’t miss out on any important educational information. The first bell will ring at 8:30 a.m., and school will begin at 8:35 a.m. On half days of school, dismissal time for all students will be at 11:40 a.m.

Breakfast at Edmonson

Breakfast will be available daily from 8:00-8:30 daily in the multi-purpose room, beginning on the first day of school.

Before School Wait Procedures

If your student is coming to breakfast, he/she will line-up in the hallway by the boys bathroom. Mr. Jim will then take the students to the multi-purpose room.  Students who are not getting breakfast will line up outside, weather permitting. Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders will line up at the main door; 3rd graders will line up at the west doors; 4th and 5th graders will line up at the west doors by the quad.

If you should have any questions regarding the information above or concerning your child’s education, please don’t hesitate to contact me at (248) 547-5342.

Educationally yours,

Amy Guzynski, Ed.S.
